Our History
From a tent revival on the corner of Georgia and Thirty-first Streets in Kenner, sponsored by Mid-City Baptist Church, in 1955, came the desire to start a mission. This mission was started by Bro. Hayes, of Mid-City Baptist Church. In 1956, a house at 3311 California Avenue was bought and served as a meeting place for the next four years.
Williams Boulevard Baptist Church was chartered in 1958, with Rev. Henry Hall as Pastor. After the purchase of the property at the revival site, a sanctuary was built in 1960. Several ministers pastored the church through the years. Rev. Clyde Roberts, was Pastor from 1964 until 1969, when he resigned to go to the mission fields in Mexico. In May 1971, Dr. Buford Easley began his ministry at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church and served for 32 years until his death.
A new sanctuary and education building were dedicated in 1974 and another educational building in 1979. The two story Family Center was completed in 1980, and the new Education/Music building was completed in 1990.
Through the years we have enjoyed a wonderful staff and support team along with numerous volunteers working for the Lord Jesus. Williams Boulevard Baptist Church is a true testimony to the grace of God.
Rev. John Faull, began his ministry at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church in March of 2004 and was called to Atlanta, GA in November of 2008.
Williams Boulevard Baptist Church, continues to enjoy warm worship and seeks to encourage godliness and holiness in a world that is falling apart.
